ABOUT
Claudia Hilda is a Cuban-born, New York-based movement director and performance and visual artist whose work spans multiple disciplines. Fascinated by the transformative power of live and visual arts, she creates gestural and visual compositions that explore identity, ancestry, feminism, and contemporary cultural narratives. She centers the body as a storyteller, bringing these themes to life through choreography, performance art, and visual installations.
With a rich background in the performing arts, Claudia spent a decade as a principal dancer with the Cuban National Company of Contemporary Dance (2013–2023). She has collaborated with renowned international choreographers, visual artists, and filmmakers, performing in major theaters and festivals across Europe and the Americas.
Claudia’s path bridges professional practice and academic inquiry. She was awarded the Chevening and Leverhulme Arts Scholarships, earning her Master’s in Arts and Choreography from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, UK (2021). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts from the University of Arts (ISA) in Cuba, where she received a Research Award in 2017–2018.
